What is Accelerated
Resolution Therapy (ART)?
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a form of evidence-based psychotherapy that works with guided eye movements to replace troubling memories associated with distressing emotions like fear and anger with new peaceful and/or pleasant ones. ART has shown healing benefits can occur within one to five sessions and has been successfully used to treat the following, often with significant benefits experienced in the first session:
· Depression
· Anxiety
· Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
· Substance use issues
· History of abuse
· Grief
· Many other mental health and/or emotional issues
Accelerated Resolution Therapy is not hypnosis and is different from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). Click here to learn more.

Heather has been an amazing therapist. I was initially hesitant to start ART, but am so glad I chose to go ahead with it. Through ART I was able to process topics I had been avoiding for years, and reduce my symptoms significantly.

Heather has been a unique find in a counselor. She is skilled, insightful, compassionate, and entirely genuine. I also really appreciate her sense of humor! ART uses visualization combined with eye movements to modify the disturbing parts of memories into something positive. It can be difficult to explain, feel a bit odd to participate in, and hard to believe it will work at all. However, with Heather’s help, using ART I have been able to let go of many of the negative emotions from memories I carried around for years that I assumed were just part of who I was. We’ve also used ART to address depression, anxiety, phobias, and grief. The result of putting down all of that baggage is a capacity for peace and happiness I didn’t think was possible. - Bryan F.

Working with Heather and A.R.T. has been life changing. She understands me and knows when I am not being honest with myself. She challenges me in a way that is motivating and supportive in reaching my goals. A.R.T. lets me work on my past while moving forward with life. I am glad I was referred to Heather & ART. After having done both EMDR and ART; Heather always makes sure I am grounded, safe, and reminds me to practice my self-care as I leave a session. I know I am leaving her office in a positive way. ~Jeri S.

I have tried other forms of therapy in the past, and none have helped me process and understand emotions like ART has. It's life-changing, and I encourage everyone to try it! - Mattie D.

In searching for a counselor I was looking for someone who would accept me for me and offer support for my own personal growth. Heather was able to do that, all while having a great laugh on the side. Piece of Mind Counseling was exactly what I needed during a difficult time in my life. - Jamie M.

Heather’s services has helped me get a sense of self back, something that seemed unattainable nine months ago. She provides the tools needed to help with anxiety and listens without judgement. It was important to me that I started working at the core of my mental health disorders and that’s exactly what we did. I’m so thankful for ART. We were able to get to the core of my PTSD from many years ago. I feel like I can actually start living again and be in the present.

I wanted to try ART because after extensive narrative processing of trauma and grief, I still felt I was carrying the weight of it even though I had "worked through" it. I am SO glad I had the opportunity to access this type of therapy, it was very helpful in lightening the load I carried. Trauma can be life changing and it impacted me in ways I wasn't comfortable with. I feel more optimistic, less easily triggered and have more energy. Heather was very thorough in explaining the process and made sure I always knew what was happening. I always felt like the path I took during the ART journey was of my choosing. It's an amazing process.

I have spent roughly 8 months in A.R.T. recovering from extensive trauma and I was astounded at the profound results of A.R.T. on my mental health and my family! It's been an accelerated recovery as opposed to the traditional talk therapy route. I highly recommend this for anyone needing post -traumatic care.

I went into ART for many traumatic events and I never thought that I would ever overcome them. But after 6 months I am happy to say I have a whole new outlook on life and I am no longer filled with fear and anxiety. Heather Frach was patient and kind and I would highly recommend her and this therapy.

I started working with Heather at a time when depression was tearing my world apart. I had been struggling with it for years, and the whole "fake it until you make it" attitude was not working for me (as if it ever does). I was not conscious of how trauma from the past was causing my depression. After several months worth of sessions, I finally feel like I am the whole me, not just a walking shell. I would highly recommend Heather and ART to anyone looking for freedom and relief from depression and trauma.

I found A.R.T. to be a very powerful technique, in helping me cope with my immense grief. Not only has A.R.T. allowed me to process current and past traumas, Heather supplied me with the tools to use at home, day to day, when I need it most.

From a Saf-T training participant:
I have used SAF-T a few different ways. I use it to help me fall asleep when my mind wants to stay awake. I used it with a friend who was having back pain. I used it with my dad while traveling, he was having leg pain and now he refers to SAF-T as my magic.

Heather was the first provider I've ever connected with in 6 years. She helped me through difficult decisions, and I was able to be myself around her. She set me on a path to further improve once my trauma was addressed.

When I first met Heather I was having a very difficult time enjoying daily life without getting frustrated or upset about any little disruption. Over the past 5 months I have been able to work through the causes and feel true joy and happiness for the first time since I was a young child. It is remarkable how well and quickly the treatment has worked. Typically the holidays all through the spring are worst for me and now I am looking forward to this time. This is the best thing that has happened for me personally in a very long time.

Heather and ART transformed my life in just six months. Initially, I was depressed and burned out, struggling to function. Heather's attentive listening and sensitivity to body cues helped me understand my emotions. Now equipped with lifelong tools, I overcame challenges and returned for a refresher when needed. Grateful for improved relationships, I credit Heather for making me a better mother, sister, daughter, and friend. Miigwetch!
